Q: Is there a dress code at Duval Dance and Music Academy?
A: Yes, students are required to wear certain color leotards based on the class they are enrolled in. All students should have their hair up neatly away from their face. No jewelry is allowed to be worn during class.
Q: Why is there a dress code at Duval Dance and Music Academy?
A: A solid colored leotard and tights make it possible for the instructors to see the dancer’s bodies so they can make the proper corrections. Dancers are often distracted by their own dancewear. Detached skirts and/or tutus become the dancer’s focus instead of the instructor.
Q: Where can we purchase our dancewear?
A: All class attire and shoes are required to be purchased through the studio. Our shoes are the color and style we use in our recitals.
